Festo's Fluidic Muscles



Good design generally mimics nature. This is particularly true for Festo's Airic's_arm. This arm is designed after the human arm and includes many of the bones found in human arms including the "ulna and radius, metacarpal bone and finger bone, shoulder joint and shoulder blade". Those joints are moved by Festo's "Fluidic Muscle" technology, which allows for the fluid movement seen in the video above and this video from their site.
